Stellenbosch Golf Club celebrated its centenary in 2004. This, the 4th oldest Golf Club in South Africa, changed from a 9 hole golf course to the current 18 hole championship lay-out in 1953. This magnificent golf course has hosted some of South Africa’s most prestigious golf tournaments, including the 1999 South African Open and 5 South African Masters tournaments.
Situated at the foot of the majestic Helderberg mountains on the outskirts of Stellenbosch, a town that is also home to one of South Africa’s most revered universities. Stellenbosch Golf Club offers golfers an immaculate golf course, complemented by a warm, friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
Although in the midst of Stellenbosch town some of the holes are bordered by the characteristic vineyards of the winelands area whilst others surprise the golfer with breath taking vistas of the surrounding mountains and town. A parklands golf course that meanders through the large trees that frame most holes and where every hole seems distinct and memorable.
Stellenbosch Golf Club is a must for every golfer.

Stellenbosch Golf Club is a real beauty of a golf challenge.
We had an early morning tee off at first light last Sunday and arriving the halfway house was ready for us for a lovely breakfast the staff are willing and on the ball.
The course is always in fabulous condition and we had a flowing game with no hold ups and it is set in the heart of Stellenbosch under the beautiful mountains on the side of the town.
A very nice experience to see and play.
Once finished to sit on their amazing veranda overlooking those mountains sipping on your favourite drink is truly relaxing after a good round of golf.
A must is to order a pizza of your choice right on the balcony where you sit what a tasty treat the chef Gerhard and his staff are excellent and look after you very well their menu has a very nice variety and GM has a great selection of wines.
On arrival the Golf Director Louis and his team Kobus and Marisaan make you feel very welcome and the shop is worth a browse as they stock a very broad selection of goods.
To the GM Chris and Louis and team thank you for such fabulous hospitality hospitality under those beautiful mountains. Visited July 2016

A definite must play course situated in the heart of the Winelands. Boasting superb views of the Stellenbosch mountains, this is one not to be missed. The excellent conditioned course improves every year, and with the refurbished clubhouse to match, all your needs are being catered for. Always book beforehand because the club is so popular and always bustling with visitors and members! Visited July 2016

The course is one of the best in the Cape. The greens are almost always in brilliant condition and it is one of the courses that rarely struggles with slow play which makes it even more enjoyable. A nice variation of easy-scoring holes to some very difficult holes. The experience is top class and the view from the 19th with a pizza on the way is not to be missed! Visited April 2016

Pleased to report that the golf club is now in very good order. staff on arrival pleasant and helpful. course in very good condition - good fairways, greens true and pretty quick, all greens seemed to have the same characteristics, good and visible security - however the rough when you end up in it is still pretty variable in terms of the lies you get. but overall a very good golf experience. halfway house worked well (orders are taken after the 8th green and are there for you when you get to the halfway house - a very sensible thing to do). decent bar and stoep overlooks the 18th green.
