| As we step into the heart of December, the festive spirit is already starting to glow around the club. Twinkling lights, warm smiles and that unmistakable excitement as we count down the final weeks before we proudly host the Investec SA Open.
But before the big week arrives, I hope each of you takes a well-deserved break filled with family, friends and, of course, a few memorable rounds of golf. In this edition, we look at the latest standings in the Suzuki Stellenbosch Challenge, celebrate another special year of the Parent & Child Competition, and congratulate the winner of the Paddy’s draw.

| The annual Parent & Child Competition, proudly presented by Dr Hertzog and his family for the past 37 years, once again delivered one of the most heartfelt days on our calendar. It’s always special to watch parents and grandparents’ team up with their children and grandchildren — many of them teary-eyed before a single shot is struck. I look back on this event with deep fondness, having had the privilege of playing it with both my father and my son over the years.
Congratulations to all of you who found yourselves in the prizes, but as Dr Hertzog always reminds us, this day is truly about building relationships and making memories that last far beyond the scorecard. I already can’t wait for next year’s edition! |

| In memory of John Sheppard |
| It is with great sadness that we close this week’s newsletter with bidding farewell to John Sheppard, who passed away earlier this week. John joined Stellenbosch Golf Club in May of 1992 and, over the years, became a familiar and much-loved presence, always a friendly gentleman with a warm smile to share. He will be deeply missed by all his golfing friends and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family during this difficult time. Rest in peace, John.
