| A happy New Year to all our valued members! While Confucius might say it’s not the start of a new year, but rather a new financial year, we’re thrilled to tee off this fresh chapter at Stellenbosch Golf Club. The past 12 months have been a rollercoaster ride, but ultimately, it’s been another fantastic year for our club. With over 54,514 golfers enjoying 18 holes on our course, it’s clear that our members and visitors alike have fallen in love with our beautiful greens.
The excitement has been palpable, especially with the announcement that we’ll be hosting the 115th Investec SA Open in February 2026 – and with just 30 weeks to go, the transformation of our course is well underway!
Our commitment to sustainability shines through in our efforts as we planted over 250 trees in the past year, embodying the spirit of giving back to nature.
We’ve also had the pleasure of hosting numerous successful member and corporate events throughout the year, culminating in a spectacular celebration of our 121st birthday last Saturday. | But that’s not all – the pièce de résistance is the introduction of the Stellenbosch Suzuki Challenge, a 10-month competition that will keep golfers on the edge over every putt. With amazing meat prizes up for grabs after each round, the stakes are highly exciting. And to top it all off, we’ll be crowning an Overall Better Ball Champion, adding an extra layer of competition to this already thrilling event.

| To Stellenbosch Golf Club as we celebrate 121 years of golf, friendship, and unforgettable memories! Saturday night’s celebration was truly special, as we honoured our league teams’ outstanding achievements. A huge congratulations to both the Kruger and Senior sides for being crowned Boland Champions in the 2025 season – what an incredible feat! All the best for the final leg this season.
We also took a moment to acknowledge and thank two remarkable members who have dedicated decades to our club. A heartfelt thank you to Johan De Villiers and Riaan van der Merwe for their 50 years of membership and to Schalk Burger and Niel van Staden for their 40 years of service – their loyalty and commitment are truly inspiring.
The evening was filled with delicious food, fine wine, and wonderful dancing, making it a night to remember. Here’s to many more happy years of golf, camaraderie, and celebration at Stellenbosch Golf Club! |
| A huge thank you to Babylonstoren for hosting an unforgettable July Mixed and Quiz Sunday! The perfect way to wrap up the weekend, the event was a resounding success, thanks to the wonderful wine, delicious food, and fantastic company.
Congratulations to all the winners, and a special mention to Romy, who celebrated her birthday in style on the same day. The weather was kind, and the scenery was almost as stunning as the winning four-ball’s impressive score of 83 stableford points – it was like strolling through one of Babylonstoren’s beautiful gardens!

| To end of the week, we are delighted to announce that the following members of Stellenbosch Golf Club have been selected to represent the Boland Golf Union at the SA Country Districts Inter-Provincial Tournament:

The tournament will take place at Royal Port Alfred Golf Club from 16 to 19 September 2025. We wish Ian, Ethan, and Tynan all the best as they proudly represent our club and fly the Stellenbosch flag!
